💌 Dear Creative Friend, You Don’t Need Permission

Hey there, creative soul.

If you’re sitting on a stack of art supplies you haven’t touched…
If you’ve been watching YouTube tutorials and whispering “I wish I could do that…”
If your junk journal is still blank because you’re afraid to “mess it up”...

This is for you.

You don’t need permission to create.
Not from your partner.
Not from your schedule.
Not from your inner critic.
Not from me. (But if you want it from me—permission granted)

Somewhere along the way, many of us—especially us women—learned to ask for permission before we took up space. Before we tried something new. Before we let ourselves be bad at something, or heaven forbid, enjoy something just for the joy of it.

But art? Creativity? That belongs to you.
It’s not about being “good” at it. It’s about being in it. With your paintbrush, your scissors, your glue stick, your glitter (yes, even that rebellious glitter).

You don’t need to wait until the laundry’s done, the kids are out of the house, or your living room looks Pinterest-perfect.
You don’t need to buy new supplies or finish a course or wait for inspiration to hit like lightning.

You just need to start.
Messy, uncertain, gloriously imperfect.

Start with one stroke. One collage scrap. One Art Kit. One sticker. One scribble. One Junk Journal kit.

The magic isn’t in the end result—it’s in the showing up.
It’s in the moment you finally say, “This is for me.”

So if you needed a little nudge, consider this your handwritten invitation to create something—anything—today.

Your art doesn’t have to hang in a gallery.
It just has to hang in your heart.

Now go get your hands messy.

With love,
-teresa 💛XO

P.S. Your creativity called. It’s tired of waiting.
