Meet Teresa
Welcome to Teresa’s Spot for Creativity
Paint. Paper. Create. And make a little time for you.
Hi, I’m Teresa, and I’m so happy you found your way here.
Teresa’s Spot for Creativity is a place for women who want to be creative without the pressure to be perfect.
Maybe you love painting. Maybe you'd rather tear up pretty paper and glue it into a junk journal. Maybe mixed media is your thing. Or maybe you haven't made anything in years and you're not even sure where to begin.
You are welcome here.
My goal is to give you simple creative projects, kits, printables, tutorials and inspiration that make it easier to step away from everything else for a little while and create something just because it makes you happy.
Create. Relax. Enjoy.
That's really what this whole place is about.
Creativity Doesn't Have to Be Complicated
I believe there is something powerful about sitting down and making something with your own two hands.
It doesn't have to be museum-worthy.
It doesn't have to match the picture.
And you absolutely do not need a perfectly organized craft room and six uninterrupted hours to do it. (Wouldn't that be nice?)
Sometimes you just need 30 minutes, a cup of iced coffee, a few supplies and permission to play.
That's the kind of creativity I want to encourage here.
At Teresa’s Spot for Creativity, you'll find projects for beginners and experienced creatives alike, including:
- Beginner-friendly acrylic painting
- Paper crafting & junk journaling
- Mixed media projects
- Creative Simple Joys & creative self-care
- True crime-inspired crafts & junk journals
- Digital printables & creative downloads
- Complete and shipped creative kits
- Step-by-step tutorials and creative inspiration
- YouTube videos and classes
- In-person art and craft workshops
Some projects are colorful and playful. Some are quiet and meaningful. And yes, occasionally we're going to break out the case files, fingerprints and evidence tags for a little true crime crafting.
Because creativity is supposed to be fun.
Why Creativity Means So Much to Me
This business actually grew out of one of the hardest seasons of my life.
In 2016, I lost my sister to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare and fatal disease.
During that time, art became much more than a hobby for me.
Creating became a way to cope.
Painting gave my mind somewhere to go when everything felt overwhelming. Sitting down with a project gave me small pockets of peace during a time when I desperately needed them.
It didn't change what was happening.
But it changed some of the moments inside of it.
And that experience completely changed the way I thought about creativity.
Creativity Became My Form of Self-Care
I realized that sometimes we don't need another thing to accomplish.
We need something that lets us slow down, use our hands, quiet some of the noise and simply enjoy being in the moment.
That's why my mission has grown beyond teaching people how to paint.
Today, my mission is:
To help women create more joy, less stress and a little time for themselves through simple, approachable creativity.
You don't have to call yourself an artist.
You don't have to be "crafty."
And you definitely don't have to be perfect.
You just have to be willing to start.
From Teresa's Silhouette Spot to Teresa's Spot for Creativity
I started Teresa's Silhouette Spot in 2018 as part of my own healing journey.
At first, painting was at the heart of almost everything I did.
I'm a Certified One Stroke Decorative Painter, and I've been painting for more than 15 years. I still absolutely love acrylic painting, and it will always be an important part of what I do.
But something funny happened along the way.
My creativity kept growing.
I started playing with mixed media.
Then paper crafting.
Then junk journaling.
Then printables, creative kits, memory keeping, digital designs and all sorts of wonderfully messy projects.
And eventually I realized something:
This wasn't just a spot for art anymore.
It had become a spot for creativity.
And that feels much more like me.
Paint. Paper. Create.
Today, Teresa's Spot for Creativity is my creative home for all of it.

There's a Place for You Here
A lot of the women who find me are in a different season of life than they were ten or twenty years ago.
Maybe the kids are grown.
Maybe life has changed.
Maybe you're caring for everyone else.
Maybe you're grieving.
Maybe you're overwhelmed.
Or maybe you've simply reached the point where you're thinking:
"I'd really like to do something for me again."
I understand that.
And I want Teresa's Spot for Creativity to be one of those places where you can come when you need a little inspiration, encouragement or creative escape.
You can watch a tutorial.
Print a journal page.
Order a kit.
Paint a canvas.
Make a junk journal.
Try something completely new.
Or make an enormous creative mess on the kitchen table.
It all counts.
And a Little About Me...
I've lived on Long Island, New York, my entire life.
I'm a mom to two grown daughters, and I tell my husband he's the perfect husband for me—mostly because of his carrot cake. 😂
My family has been incredibly supportive of this slightly crazy creative journey, and I'm so grateful for them.
I'm also heavily—and I do mean heavily—addicted to iced coffee.
I love audiobooks, the beach, sunshine and getting lost in a creative project.
Give me an iced coffee, some art supplies and a sunny day near the water, and I'm pretty darn happy.
I'm Glad You're Here
Wherever you are in your creative journey, I hope you'll find something here that makes you want to pull out your supplies and make something.
Not because you should.
Not because you need another finished project.
But because you deserve some time that belongs to you, too.
Make the painting.
Start the journal.
Print the pages.
Use the pretty paper.
Try the thing you've been afraid you're going to mess up.
There is no perfection required here.
Just create.
Relax.
Enjoy.
And hopefully find a little more joy along the way.
Thank you for letting me share this creative space with you.
I'm so happy you're here.
