Anything and everthing starts with a feeling. That can be a good feeling or even a bad feeling. Our feelings are great motivators.
I’ve spent years pouring my heart into painting and teaching, and I love every single moment of it. But today, I want to open up and share something a little more personal.
Art is my therapy. Art can be very healing and extremely relaxing. Art helped me grieve after the loss of my sister from a fatal disease called, CJD. Art is not always about making something pretty but about the feelings we get while we are creating, getting our hands dirty and turning off the noise in our heads.
The 31 Days of Halloween has taught me that that can happen with many forms of creativity and not just paint.
I Love painting, but crafting, experimenting with new materials, trying other mediums and walking you through my ideas and techniques, has really filled my cup. This 31 Days of Halloween has been challenging but in a GREAT way! I have loved getting my hands messy, researching designs, sketching out bold ideas, discovering unexpected color palettes and materials.
Social Media can be great for connection but I am also creating a long-term content for you and for YouTube, where I not only teach painting but also explore other forms of crafting and creativity.
Imagine a series of YouTube videos where I show you how to expand your ideas into projects—not just with paint, but by transforming everyday objects into something special. I love teaching and inspiring others to create. This is starting small, as most things do, but it could eventually lead to a bigger YouTube presence where I’ll have a dedicated space for both digital work, painting and crafting.
So right now, I’m taking it one video at a time. I love the fact that I HAVE NO IDEA what will work and what won't and I don't care. It's not always about the finished product but the process. I hope that each of my attempts will encourge someone to try, get out of their comfort zone or even just sit back and realax for a few minutes as you take time for yourself to just be and watch.
I have so many creative ideas and I’m all in, because I know I’ll get better at it—one project at a time.
Thank you to all my community. I cannot wait to explore with you.
